Competencies

Excellent command of written and spoken English
Degree holder preferably in journalism, communications, or related discipline (e.g. political science or economics with journalism experience)
Experience in editing news, analytical reports and columns
Strong news judgment and familiarity with local issues, as well as an understanding of relevant world affairs
Ability to write and edit with flair and speed to meet tight deadlines
Familiar with Microsoft Office, social media and search engines
Ability to lead and organize a team well
Good attitude, willingness to adjust to new systems and ability to respect authority within the organization

Knows Microsoft Office, social media and search engines
A good team player, but is able to work independently within the parameters of a given assignment

DIGITAL AND SOCIA MEDIA STAFF

The Manila Times is looking for a digital and social media staff with a solid understanding of how each social media platform works and how to optimize content for maximum engagement.

Applicants should be a graduate of a bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, marketing or related field

Requirements

Should have at least 2 years of social media management experience
Must have experience with Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn and other social media platforms
Must have deep understanding of social media metrics, trends and social products/tools
Has an eye for creativity and the talent to generate innovative and interesting concepts in developing social media content and campaigns
Can adapt to a fast-paced work environment
Is able to multitask
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must have hands-on knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Search Engine
Knowledge in marketing (SEM) and keyword research is an advantage

VIDEO EDITOR

The Manila Times is looking for a Video Editor for its digital platform.

Responsibilities

Edits videos/photos on demand
Oversees and ensures the uploading of quality videos/photos on the news site

Requirements

Graduate of Multimedia Arts, Information Design or any related course;
Proven working experience as a Video Editor or relevant experience – at least 2 years
Knowledge in software such as ADOBE: Premiere, Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator; Final Cut
Creative and has a keen eye for detail and critical mind;
Excellent written and oral communication skills;
Willing to work long hours if needed;
Experience in any of the media firms with digital platforms is a plus.
